CSBECD at the VUM Research Institute is a non-profit educational, research and consulting organization for the study and promotion of ethical thinking in business practices and decision-making.

Ethical management of people and resources is one of the main criteria for successful business and entrepreneurship. One of the Centre’s primary goals is to train a new generation of business leaders in successful and ethical business practices, and to foster a culture of social responsibility and the common good.

The Centre is the first of its kind in Bulgaria and one of the few in Eastern Europe. CSBECD has the ambition to establish partnerships with scholars and research institutes at home and abroad, to work in partnership with trade corporations and industry, and with governmental and non-profit organizations.

In addition to research and training, the Centre is planning to organize forums, scientific conferences, seminars, and public lectures and to offer consulting services for successful ethical practices and compliance for businesses in partnership with governmental and non-profit organizations.

The Centre’s research and educational activities have an interdisciplinary character. The study of economics, business, and administrative management is combined with various disciplines in the humanities, such as history, law, and philosophy, as well as with medicine, health management, and information technologies. The Centre partners with scholars from Bulgarian and foreign universities, offering research and student exchange programs. CSBECD publishes the Business Ethics and Management Review, successor to the IUC Management Review.
